Cranial Doors

Chemical rivers of electricity, the roots below, the braches above, bifurcating into countless tributaries, diverging, dividing, branching, offshooting...

...each thought multiple doors opening and slamming, closing and swinging wide, eletricity pulsing the chemical line.

Our brain, billions of neurons, microscopic pathways -- thoughts, memories, ideas, twinkling Christmas lights hidden in the cavernous whorls of our brain, noodles, deep in the noggin.

The only thing about us that does not renew every 7 years. The neurons are permanent, until, of course, alcohol and drugs do their bit, a tsunami across the Etch-a-Sketch, wiping clean the slate, tabula rasa, the Big A the new fiend, every forgetter's friend.

We think, therefore we am, we are, we be, we been, we was, we wuz.

A tributary, a neuron deeply ingrained, habit, long-standing, a neuron imprinted with the chemical stain of the scent of grass, lies echoingly close to the neuron carrying the blat of a lawnmower, cross-referenced to a strange man mowing the stubble of his face with an electric razor, the squeak of a palm blurring away steam, the smell of mold, wet carpet between the toes, itching, scratching -- billions of branches, interconnected, all connected, all plugged in, one plant, one tree, one monstrous universe, microverse, a brain, a mind, thoughts riccocheting within slimy corridors.

Do something once, the whisper of a neuron, a faint record of something done once. Do something twice, the pathway is evident in the grass, ingrained, repeating, deepening, new branches, striations, strings...

...string theory, vibrations, sound waves -- light particles?

Chaos Theory, Order Theory, a hypothesis is just an educated guess, and an educated guess is a guess based on many guesses before it, a curriculum of guesses, voted on and approved by the guessing board, the committee of guessers, a certification of best guesses, all approved, all proofed in the pudding.
